Today we bring you a special edition of our recaps to cover The Lil Noun Show with Ryan Carson. If you missed the show we leave you a summary of everything he has told us about his projects and history as a builder.
Ryan Carson started the interview talking about his beginnings in entrepreneurship, he started chemistry in college but two weeks after starting, he decided to drop out to study computer science. He quickly realized the importance of learning to program, through this ability he could create any of the ideas he had.
Once he finished his studies, he decided to create 48 events "by designers for designers" in different countries. Through these events he met people like Mark Zuckerberg, Kevin Rose and Gary Vaynerchuk.
After these events, he focused on growing his companies until December 2021 when he sold Treehouse Island. This caused him to look for something new that he was excited to help develop, shortly after selling the company he contacted Kevin Rose and became directly involved in Proof and later Moonbirds.
While performing his duties at Proof and Moonbirds, he decided to create a fund dedicated solely to investing in NFT's. Although he was initially close to raising $40 million, as a result of the industry situation, the fund raised only $5 million. Although the situation is not good in the sector, Ryan Carson's conviction about his investments has not changed at all. His investment thesis is to invest for the long term in teams that he believes are working towards a vision with potential.
He also spoke about his vision of DAOs and how interesting he considers this type of entity to be when creating an investment fund and the potential that comes with the possibility of having 100% transparency regarding capital movements.
He commented that he is preparing his own NFT project that promises to give a different approach to the current projects. This collection will be Free to Mint and access will be given to those members of Ryan's community who show that they are active and contribute to the growth of everything that is being created. The system that Gmoney used to decide which members could mint Admit One is something that he likes a lot and he is studying how to use the POAPs system to guarantee that those who are minting the POAPs are active members of his community.
To end this very interesting program, we have had Punk 4156 who has commented his vision about Nouns DAO and the nounish spirit. Talking about Nouns DAO, he highlighted the importance of creating public infrastructure. Services like Nouns builder or Prop House give the community the possibility to create, improve and feel comfortable with the support of Nouns DAO. Currently we see how many DAOs are starting to use this infrastructure, improving the sector at the same time that noggles are proliferating.
